Candle Burning Tips
-
Tapered candles with square cotton wick are self regulating, they do not require any servicing while burning. If candle smolders when extinguished trim any charred wick upon re-lighting. If the wick is too short, the taper might drip until the flame and wick have regulated to the proper length.
-
Use COMMON SENSE when choosing a holder for your candle. Tea-Lights and Votives, for example, require holders that provide proper airflow. When using a glass container, limit your burn time to 4 hours at once. This will prevent breakage.

To clean most candle holders:
-
Heat oven to 200F.
-
Fold two paper towels in half and place on an aluminum pie plate.
-
Place candle holders upside down onto paper towels in oven for seven minutes.
-
Remove candle holder with and oven mitt and wipe clean using 2 or 3 fresh paper towels.
This cleaning method works well on any glass, metal or pottery holders. For wooden candle holders heat with hair dryer then use paper towels for wiping. |
